OIA Terminal C Airside
Orlando, Florida
BASE was the Engineer of Record for the new airside terminal passenger boarding piers. The boarding piers service sixteen swing gates with an additional four gates commencing construction soon. The boarding piers serve to connect to the jet bridges with the airside. Passenger movement within the piers transition between the transfer level and international level through a series of ramps. The four additional gates utilize escalators and elevators in lieu of the ramps. The boarding pier structures are self-supporting independent structures and include long span steel beams and concrete shear walls. Vibration design was a controlling design factor.
