Laura Barbero-Buffa is a Co-Owner and Vice President of BASE Consultants with over 18 years of experience in structural engineering and business development. Her areas of expertise include structural analysis, design, project management, and construction administration. Laura is a registered professional engineer in Florida and Georgia, as well as a LEED Accredited Professional.

She has worked on major projects, including a $100M renovation for Orlando International Airport, in addition to projects for Orange County, the City of Orlando, and Orange County Public Schools, among others. Laura is particularly skilled at allowing for flexibility in design, strategizing initial construction savings and long-term durability, project management delivering quality designs on-schedule and in-budget, and her responsiveness to clients. Her key ability is saving her client’s money with efficient and time-saving approaches to projects. She also solves problems “on-the-fly,” which speaks to her experience with larger, more complex project experience.

Laura achieved a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and her MBA from the Crummer Graduate School at Rollins College. She is an amateur Olympic weightlifter, a proud Panamanian, and a dog mom to two crazy Australian cattle dog mutts.
