OIA Airside 4 Improvements Program

Orlando International Airport, Orlando, Florida

Providing increased capacity for international passengers.

The complete project scope included a new 10,000 s.f. central energy plant (CEP) and chiller adjacent to Airside 4, as well as a 150,000 s.f. expansion of the Federal Inspection Services (FIS) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) areas to increase passenger throughput.

Our scope included the foundation design for the CEP, chiller, and the 90s wing expansion, two new egress stairs at the 80s wing, and the two-story expansion of the FIS facility. The main challenge on this project was that the entire hub and wing areas were kept operational during all phases, including during preliminary field investigations, design, and construction.
